In the summer of 2018, AUGEL was commissioned by LBM Cochem to build a 24-metre-long cycle and footpath bridge to cross the Ahr. The construction project also included the new construction of a 120-metre-long cycle path along the Ahr river in order to integrate the new bridge into the existing cycle path. Due to the new construction of the bridge, the cycle path, which originally ran along a main road, could be relocated to the former Ahr valley railway line.
The project was executed in the FFH nature reserve and therefore required the use of environmentally friendly materials and bio-oil operated machines.
